One New London Annual Meeting Elects Officers, Amends By-Laws

One New London’s Annual Meeting took place on Sunday, July 16th. A revision was made to the by-laws allowing people active in the party but not registered as One New London the ability to vote in party elections. Party officers were also elected. Mike Mansfield was elected Party Chairman. Jennifer Bartholomew was elected Secretary. Eric Parnes was elected Treasurer. Michael Cristofaro, Richard Humphreville, Dr. David Hayes and Tom Lacey were elected to the executive committee, which along with party officers is a seven member body.

Notice of Annual Meeting

Pursuant to One New London by-laws adopted June 4th, 2006 this correspondence is sent to notify One New London members and potential members of One New London’s Annual Meeting.

The meeting will take place: SUNDAY, JULY 16th 2006. 4:00 o’clock p.m. Retired Armed Forces Association (R.A.F.A. Club)
On Garfield Avenue.

The purpose of this meeting is to elect party officers, and amend the by-laws. All are invited to attend. If you are not registered to vote or wish to register as a member of One New London, voter registration forms will be available. We also recognize that because we are a local independent party, some of you may wish to maintain your national party status. Proposed amendments to the current by-laws acknowledges this fact and will allow you to participate as a voting member in exchange for a few hours of your valuable time on one of our committees.

First One New London Meeting: By-Laws, Charter Revision Commission and Fort Trumbull

June 18th, 2006

One New London’s first membership meeing took place on June 4th. The four page document, now available at the City Clerk’s office, was adopted by a unanimous vote. The membership also made position votes. One New London is FOR the creation of a charter revision commission. Also, the membership named Bill Cornish and Charles Frink’s proposed Fort Trumbull resolution as the Fort Trumbull position of One New London. The party’s annual membership meeting to elect party officers will be in early July.

On Sunday, June 4th at 5:30 p.m. One New London will have its next membership meeting at the Retired Armed Forces Association Club (RAFA) on Garfield Avenue. Anyone interested in helping One New London realize its vision of a better New London is encouraged to attend. Members of One New London do not need to be residents of New London, voters, or documented individuals; they just need to be interested in working towards the betterment of New London. People can call Tom Lacey, Party Chairman, at 444-6867 for a ride on Sunday or for more information.

One New London Fort Trumbull Resolution Fails

Last night City Council voted 2-5 against One New London’s proposal to resolve the Fort Trumbull standoff. One New London will be taking other initiatives in the near future to save our neighbors homes and will post information on www.1NL.org as it becomes available.
